Webber Campaign Raises over $150,000 in 3rd Quarter

Today, United States Marine Corps veteran Stephen Webber announced that his campaign for the new and open Senate seat in Boone County raised over $152,000 in this fundraising quarter, with the campaign raising over $560,000 in the first three quarters of the year.

This impressive fundraising haul rounds out a strong 3rd quarter for the campaign, which announced endorsements from the entire Boone County Democratic House delegation comprising Kathy Steinhoff (D-45) , David Tyson Smith (D-46) , Adrian Plank (D-47), Doug Mann (D-50) ; the Columbia Professional Firefighters (Local 1055); the Missouri AFL-CIO; and most recently received significant financial support from the Teamsters union.

The senior member of the delegation, Representative David Tyson Smith , said “I’ve known Stephen for years and I look forward to working with him in Jefferson City. Stephen and I are committed to making Boone County as good a place for today’s kids to grow up in as it was for us. That’s why the Boone County Democratic House Delegation is proudly united in our support for Stephen Webber.”

“Firefighters will be safer with Stephen Webber in the Senate,” said IAFF Local 1055 President Zack Privette . “As Firefighters we are proud to serve this community, and we are all in to elect Stephen Webber. Webber understands the importance of first responders and is committed to supporting public safety.”

Webber raised money into his candidate committee ($117,826) and his affiliated Homefront PAC ($34,400). 79% of contributions received by Webber for Boone County were grassroots contributions of less than $200, averaging $44.02. With his 100K+ fundraising total this quarter, Webber has officially raised over 100K in each of the 11 fundraising quarters that he’s spent running for State Senate (2015-2016, 2023).

Webber’s campaign has quickly unified Democrats in Boone County and across Missouri with previous endorsements from pro-choice group Access Missouri, Boone County Presiding Commissioner Kip Kendrick, former State Representative Martha Stevens, former Governor Roger Wilson and former Secretary of State Jason Kander , among others.

Stephen Webber, Marine Corps Veteran and Missouri AFL-CIO Political Director, is proud to announce an impressive list of endorsements in support of his State Senate campaign for Boone County’s 19th District. Boone County’s entire Democratic House delegation, including Representatives Kathy Steinhoff (D-45) , David Tyson Smith (D-46) , Adrian Plank (D-47) and Doug Mann (D-50) , is uniting behind Webber ahead of next year’s general election.

Representative Kathy Steinhoff , a 30 year public school teacher and former President of the Columbia teachers union (CMNEA) added “Webber will fight to improve quality education, invest in school safety and keep guns out of the hands of abusers and criminals. I look forward to Stephen being a legislative partner who will always put our children first.”

“I can’t wait to work with the Boone County House delegation to strengthen our schools, grow our economy and keep Boone County the greatest place on earth to grow up and raise a family,” Webber said.

Webber also announced the coveted endorsement of the Columbia Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 1055 , who have been one of the most active groups in local politics.

“Firefighters are heroes and it’s truly an honor to have their support.” Webber said. “Firefighters will run into a burning building for any one of us, so I’m gonna fight like hell for them on the floor of the State Senate to make sure they have the equipment, training and healthcare they need to return safely to their families.”

Webber was also endorsed this morning by the Missouri AFL-CIO in a unanimous vote of the federation’s executive board. The Missouri AFL-CIO is the largest labor organization in the State, representing dozens of labor unions and thousands of workers.

Today, United States Marine Corps veteran and fierce advocate for Missouri workers Stephen Webber announced that his campaign for the new and open Senate seat in Boone County raised $100,872 in their second quarter, reaching the mid-year point with over $400,000 raised in their first 6 months. The Webber campaign has proven that they’re backed by strong community support and show no signs of stopping any time soon.

This impressive fundraising haul rounds out a strong second quarter for the campaign, which earned the support of labor unions, an early endorsement from the Pro-Choice organization Access MO , endorsements from local elected officials including County Commissioner Kip Kendrick , Representative Kathy Steinhoff, City Councilwoman Andrea Waner , former Governor Roger Wilson , former Rep. Martha Stevens , and the support of hundreds of Boone County citizens.

Today, United States Marine Corps veteran and fierce advocate for Missouri workers Stephen Webber announced that he will be running for the new and open Missouri State Senate District 19 in Boone County.

"I'm proud that I was raised and went to public schools right here in Boone County. It's home for the people I care most about in the entire world and the community that raised me and gave me so much. Whether it was during combat in Iraq, advocating for Missouri workers or serving as a State Representative for nearly a decade, I’ve always wanted to give back and fight to put Boone County first," said Stephen Webber.

About Stephen Webber:

Stephen Webber is an attorney and currently serves as Political Director of the Missouri AFL-CIO, the State's largest federation of labor unions, where there is only one goal: a better life for working people.

He grew up in Columbia, where he attended Grant and Ridgeway Elementary Schools, graduated from Hickman High School (2001) and from the University of Missouri School of Law. After the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, Stephen answered the call to serve our country as a U.S. Marine for two tours in Iraq, where he led troops in combat. When he returned home, he had the honor to serve Columbia in the Missouri House of Representative for 8 years from 2009-2016. He also served as Chair of the Missouri Democratic Party (2017-2018), where he successfully ensured the passage of statewide ballot initiatives to raise the minimum wage, enact campaign finance reforms and defeat so-called right-to-work. Stephen’s tenure as Party Chair was also the last time Missouri Democrats flipped a State Senate Seat and the last time Democrats won a Statewide election.

When Stephen Webber ran for State Senate in 2016, he beat his opponent among voters who live within the newly redrawn district that will be used for the election on November 5th, 2024. Stephen’s campaign is supported by HomeFront PAC, which is being run by Boone County attorney and businessman Michael Campbell.

He currently lives in Columbia with his two German Shepherds Schatzi and Beo.
